This day will replace Tortola's
mystery with a clear vision of its beauty. Tortola, the largest of a
small group of islands, will provide a contrast of experiences on your
tour. While the southern part of the island is mountainous and rocky
and covered wtih scrub, frangipani and ginger thomas, the north has
groves of bananas, mangoes and palm trees and long shady beaches.
The south shore is the capital and business centre of the territory.
This area houses many of the oldest buildings, churches and the
colonial prison and is the most picturesque street in Roadtown.
You'll see these sights from your open air safari bus and with your
guide's narration, you will understand the past through the present.
You will receive the true and tall tales of the discovery of the
island and have a chance to visit the sites that contributed to bring
Tortola into the present. Government buildings and particular sites of
merit will round out the urban portion of the tour.
A stop at Mt. Healthy National Park will introduce you to the old
windmill where sugar cane was manufactured to produce brown sugar. A
visit to the 100-year old Callwood Rum Distillery will bring an
education of the production of the Caribbean's most popular drink. You
will be able to sample some pure cane rum at its best.
You will have some time to roam and souvenir shop on this special
island, as you surely will want to take home an item to remind you of
Tortola |

For
a lucky few, this day sail will deliver this island's fantasies. This
schooner, beautifully equipped for your comfort, will take you sailing
on the most beautiful waters you will find anywhere. With a host of
islands surrounding it, our boat lets the winds glide you to Virgin
Gorda's famous Baths for snorkeling. From there you will sail to
Cooper Island and revel it is seclusion. It may be, though, that the
winds are saying Norman Island, another wonderful destination. Here
you have the chance again to enjoy the beach and perhaps find the lost
treasure of Long John Silver. The Caves will provide the perfect
snorkel. Whatever your destination, you will have a marvelous time and
wish you would never have to leave.
The captain and the crew will make sure you feel like VIPs as they
cater to you all day long. Somewhere along the 80 feet of deck space
you will find your spot to relax and sip your rum punch while the crew
does all the work. A delicious freshly prepared bbq lunch with two
salads is served aboard, with complimentary beers, sodas, fruit
punches, chilled white wine, iced water and rum punches are served all
day. Your snorkel gear and vests are included - what more could you
ask for? |

See it all on Virgin Gorda, with
an option to snorkel at the Baths, and enjoy a waterfront lunch. Our
special tour guide will show you the highlights of this beautiful
island in an open air bus. After taking a look around scenic Spanish
Town, you will see the ruins of an 18th century Copper Mine and over
look the neighboring islands from Gorda Peak, Virgin Gorda's highest
point.
Afterwards, your driver will take you to the island's most famous
place, the Baths. The short walk down a path of some stairs and some
rocks is an exercise in balance, (keep an eye open for lizards and
birds) after which you will arrive at the huge boulders and beautiful
beach that is "the Baths".
Swim, sunbathe, snorkel or take the path through the rocks to an even
more beautiful beach. Your driver will pick you up at a pre-arranged
time and take you to a very charming family-run resort for lunch. You
will enjoy watching the yachts pass by this beach-side restaurant
while you savor your Caribbean lunch. After lunch, your driver will
return you to the ferry dock for your trip back to Tortola.
The chance to see this exotic destination, particularly as it is so
untypically tourist-based and so pristine, will bring you to the heart
of tropical travel. |
