This wonderful eco
tour takes you deep into a protected wild life refuge with plenty of
fun. I feel
like proclaiming that this is the original jungle tour. Somehow I do
believe that if anyone could lay claim to being the originator, it
would be Mr. Perez.
He provides roundtrip transportation at the cruiseship dock for the
5-minute ride to the location of his jungle river boats. This tour is
very interesting as you spend an hour and a half on the water gliding
through the protected wildlife refuge spotting all kinds of things.
Blue, gray, and white herons abound and sea hawks sail overhead.
You will also travel past the largest shrimp fleet in Mexico and I
think he'll tell you that this is the largest shrimp industry in the
world, which happens to be true. Depending on the time of day, you
should be able to see the fisherman bringing in their catch in the
Federal Sanctuary. The bird sanctuary is also on your way, as are the
pelicans which perch at Isla Pelicanos.
When you arrive on land, you will think it's your birthday! You have a
moment to freshen up before the appetizers are served. A short 5 to 10
minute walk will bring you to a spot for lunch with an open bar. The
kitchen is also open and you can see the preparation.
At some point you are directed to hop onto a Mexican limousine, which
we would describe as a cart pulled by a tractor. This mode of
transportation is perfect for your tour of the coconut plantation,
home to ducks, chickens and hens, along with muchos coconuts.
Horseback riding is available for an extra and very reasonable charge
of $5.00. No charge for the sea turtles, which are visible in season
only.
One more piece of entertainment as you return - a bird show is
performed for your pleasure. |

Our
ShoreTrip was wonderful, fun, and worth every
penny. Everything seemed to go as clock work.
Lunch was excellent the tractor ride was fun,
and the boat ride was great. The guide was very
safe on the boat with life jackets for every
one.The boats were in good shape and not over
crowded. We enjoyed the birds
some of them we had never even heard of. The
guide was funny, friendly and knowledgeable and
gave us extra attention when he could.
Everything seemed to go along smoothly; We had
no problems with the tour company at all. I
would highly recommend the tour. |
