the Central Valley and maybe even the Big Island make this
trip unforgettable!

You
will be treated just like Tom Hanks or Gene Hackman if you do
this tour, as you will be following in their footsteps -
rather, their bike tracks!
This is a tour so well-known that many hear about it without
even knowing where to do it. There are two tours a day, but
the sunrise tour is the most famous as it starts at 2am and
allows you to watch the sun rise. The midday tours, for those
of you not quite so daring, starts at 7:30am. What you are
really going to be doing is biking downhill for 38 miles along
the side of a dormant volcano, yet you will be pedaling for
only 400 yards.
You will be picked up and transported to the base station at
the foot of the mountain. After a continental breakfast,
you're off to the top of the volcano where you will witness
the spectacles of the Haleakala crater. You will be fitted
with the helmet, windbreaker jacket, pants and gloves and you
will ride custom-built mountain bicycles. Every tour has the
most experienced professional bikers along and an escort van
to answer any need.
This enormous crater is 21 miles in circumference, 3000 feet
deep and is large enough to fit Manhattan Island within. If
you take the Sunrise tour, you will see one of the most
spectacular solar displays found anywhere. Your descent begins
from the crater rim. Each group follows a lead guide in radio
contact with the chase van. Many stops are made on the way
down. Once the final descent is made to the sea, a gourmet
breakfast or lunch is served.
This all sounds a bit dangerous so it was our job to find the
BEST company for the job and we did just that. We found the
originators!
Please note, though, that as romantic as this tour sounds, it
is not for novices. You should be an experience biker to
handle the switchbacks, which are extensive at the beginning
of the trip.

begins with a ride into the Central Valley and a
continental breakfast at the Paia Plantation. The drive is

limo-vans. We'll tour the remote Hana Coast at a leisurely
and relaxed pace. This is a spectacular drive past rugged
lava sea cliffs, quaint Hawaiian villages, glistening
water falls and the homes of many of the worlds most
famous people.
After traveling through a tropical rain forest, we arrive
at the Hana Bay Beach Park. You will delight in a
scrumptious beachside picnic lunch, served on white linen
and crystalline plates. The menu includes hors d'oeuvres,
breads, fresh fruit, salad, pasta, smoked chicken, dessert
and ice cold soft drinks. You'll have time for a stroll or
a swim before we start our drive back.
A stop will be made for a swim in a crystal clear,
rain-water pool under a cascading waterfall. A final stop
is Ho'okipa -the home of world-class windsurfers.

A
driving and walking tour of Maui's spectacular west coast
line. This tour is an incredible way to experience
old Hawaii. Nakalele Point is the northern-most point on
Maui and is the home of Hawaii’s first lighthouse. It is
also the location of West Maui's youngest lava flow at 1
million years. It boasts incredible lava formations,
blowholes and turtle watching. Our tour overlooks
prehistoric ravines, rugged coastlines and poetic photo
opportunities. Then, after coffee, muffins and fresh
fruit, we head down the road to Kahakuloa valley.
Kahakuloa is a very special place not only for us but also
for the people who live and work in the valley. It has
been inhabited and farmed for roughly 1,500 years. The
Ahupu'a (farming system) is still intact and in operation.
This is an incredible experience. Many local residents on
Maui haven't even had the opportunity to see it.
Once we arrive in the valley, we go "off-road"
(onto private property) and drive a short way to where the
road ends at a suspension bridge leading to the ancient
pathway. Our guides share tales about the valley’s
storied past and possibilities for the future.
We'll also stop at a remote Hawaiian art gallery featuring
only Hawaiian artists working in Hawaii.

We'll make
the seemingly difficult, remarkably easy. Beginner
group lessons are available to virtually everyone, and
there are very few limitations when considering the age,
weight, height, or swimming ability of the potential
surfing student. Prior ocean experience is not necessary.
Group class sizes will range between 1 to 5 students per
instructor, guaranteed! Students are outfitted with
surfing booties, rash-guard shirts and beginner soft
longboards which are included with the lesson.
Since 1994 this company has had the pleasure and privilege
to successfully and safely introduce approximately 40,000
students to the awesome experience of surfing. These
stoked new surfers have ranged in age from 3 to 77. They
came from all walks of life and from all over the world.
95% of our graduates had never surfed before their first
lesson, and stood within 2 hours. We attribute much of
their success to the highly-developed methods of teaching
and coaching and the world class beginner surf spot where
we instruct. Students learn fundamentals for surfing much
like they would learn from practicing Yoga or Martial
Arts. We've had an immense amount of experience and time
to develop a method of teaching based on fundamentals and
principal areas of focus. Along with introducing 4
different surfing stances, instruction focuses on safety,
navigating the surf zone, and ocean awareness. Our
instructors provide patient professional instruction,
excellent equipment, and the best waves possible for
learning. Plus we love what we do!
Our shop is a trip in itself. Once you see it, you will
know about all the famous people who have learned to surf
here.

What
to pack?:
Dress
is normally casual resort attire, however, some resorts offer fine
dining experiences that may require jackets for men. Ladies can

traveling to higher elevations (ie. Haleakala, Maui), we recommend
you bring a warm sweater or jacket as temperatures can reach down

Climate:
The
Hawaiian islands have a generally mild climate with average
temperatures ranging from mid-70's (fall) to mid-80's (spring).
The summers may reach the mid-90's, but the Pacific trade winds
keep the islands cool and comfortable. The rainy season tends to
be November through March, but varies from island to island, Kauai
being the wettest and Hawaii being the driest. Sunshine reigns
here, with an average 200 days of sunshine a year.
