The best of the island
with the best of guides and time for snorkeling too! Hurricane Ivan
took it's toll on Grand Cayman, which you will see when you visit.
But even though things don't look exactly as they used to, you will
still enjoy your day there with the best guide on the island. He
will tell you tales and explain Cayman's history as he takes you
away from the crowds for a glimpse into the old time Cayman
lifestyle. You'll visit the rural Eastern Districts and hear about
local customs. View traditional architecture and discover historic
sites such as old-time Watler's Cemetery at Old Prospect, Pedro and
Bodden Town. Next, you'll travel to the North Side, where many of
Cayman's traditions, such as "ground" farming and bush medicine are
still practiced today. Your drive continues through East End, site
of the celebrated Wreck of the Ten Sail Historic Site and view the
famous Blow Holes.
Your tour stops at a secluded beach for a short swim and snorkel,
while your guide serves you a light local refreshement of sandwiches
and fruit juice. Your tour concludes with a scenic return ride back
to the dock in George Town.

This
charming tour can be combined with an early 2-hour snorkel for a
perfect day. You will see that Georgetown is bustling as you
head out of town. Your first stop is the Governor's House, for which
the Caymanians have much pride. Here you can disembark and take some
photos for a lasting image. You will see and learn about 7 Mile
Beach which is as well-known for its stretch of white sand as it is
for the shallow reefs located just off shore. You may want to return
to this pristine place later to snorkel among the countless colorful
fish.
The Turtle Farm is another stop of interest. Damaged several years
ago in a hurricane, it has recently re-opened and is a fabulous
attraction. The only one of its kind in the world, Cayman Turtle
Farm is home to over 16,000 green sea turtles, ranging in size from
six ounces to six hundred pounds each! Nowhere else can you see an
endangered species so successfully raised for conservation.
Of course, everyone wants to go to Hell and you will! Send one of
those famous postcards to your friends with the postmark they will
keep forever (don't forget to bring those addresses!). Your film and
camera will insure you get that famous photo.
Along the way you will see the Old Homestead, worth a picture as
well, the Pink House and even a stop at the Tortuga Rum Factory. |

This
is the famous full day trip by the fellow who made it so. Throughout
the ins and outs and ups and downs of island life, this company has
managed to excel for the last 50 years. Started by the man who
"discovered" Stingray City, the company is still family owned, and
although the founder is not a kid anymore, he often will board the
boat and regale his guests with tales of life in Cayman's earlier
days.
You'll board a cabin cruiser for the trip to the famous Stingray
City sandbar to interact with the stingrays in waist-deep water. In
addition, you'll stop for snorkel at the Barrier Reef, Coral Gardens
and a spot for the conch dive.
At Stingray City, you can enjoy having the stingrays swim around you
or you can don your snorkel and get a little more up close and
personal. Food for the stringrays is provided so you can experience
the feeling of them grabbing the goodies with their mouths on the
underside of their body as they swim over your hand.
The gorgeous Barrier Reef will provide you the opportunity to
snorkel in waters 8-10ft. deep inhabited by nurse sharks and moray
eels as well as beautiful coral and thousands of fish.
One of your other snorkel destination is Coral Gardens, a cluster of
coral formations which is home to thousands of fish and a few
stingrays. Your captain will determine the order of the snorkel
stops.
You'll take a break at the beach of the lovely Kaibo Yacht Club,
where lunch is served. In season, from November 1- March 31, you
will also have the opportunity to participate in a "conch dive". The
conch will be served marinated as an appetizer with a full lunch to
follow (we promise everything else will be cooked!). The mahi-mahi,
steamed plantain, coconut bread, rice, potato and tossed salad lunch
is said to be worth the price of admission alone! |

Every time I talk to
people about Grand Cayman, they all tell me about this tour. I
don't think anything else in the Caribbean has a following like
this! |

We had an
awesome time on the snorkeling trip to Stingray City.
Grand Cayman is beautiful and we can't wait to go back!
We loved our guide Christopher, he was terrific! He
fixed us a great lunch and we really enjoyed eating on
the beach. I found booking a shore excursion thru
Shoretrips extremely easy and quick, with very
competitive prices. I will highly recommend Shoretrips
and this excursion to our friends, and will definetly be
using you again. Thanks again for a great time. Until
our next cruise.....!

Our StingRay
City Trip was much more than we ever imagined!! Our
guide, Eric was wonderful. We saw so much more than we
expected. With only eight people in our group it was so
easy to talk with everyone and share the experience with
guest and crew. If we ever go to Cayman we will do this
again it was that good!!!!!!!!! |

We really
enjoyed the snorkeling trip. We read about ShoreTrips on
the internet and have since told several other people
who are taking a cruise. I think you get more for your
money and more individual attention than on the trips
offered by the cruise lines. Thanks again and we will
definitely look you up when we take other cruises. |

I am happy
to report that my client tells me he and his wife really
enjoyed the excursion and would recommend it to others.
They gave it high marks for quality and enjoyment. This
kind of comment from clients makes it all that much
easier for us to recommend this trip to future clients.
Thank you!

From the man who put
Stingray City on the map, here is his short trip. This 2 hour
snorkel trip is designed specifically for cruise passengers whose
ships arrive a little later in the day or for those just looking for
Grand Cayman's snorkel highlights. The company that runs this trip
also has a full-day snorkel trip that ShoreTrips offers, but
sometimes, if you are cruising, your stay is too short to experience
it. So, we are glad to offer this trip, with the same great,
friendly staff and the 2 most popular snorkel stops. No visit
to Grand Cayman is complete without a visit to the famous Stingray
City sandbar for interacting with the stingrays in waist-deep water.
And this trip is provided by the company who "discovered" Stingray
City. If you're lucky, perhaps the original owner will be on board.
Although he is now retired, he still loves to get on the boat,
interact with the guests and relate stories of what life was like in
Cayman's earlier days.
You'll board a cabin cruiser for this two-hour trip which includes a
stop at the Stingray City sandbar for interacting with the stingrays
in waist-deep water. You can enjoy having the stingrays swim around
you or you can don your snorkel and get a little more up close and
personal with them. Food for the stringrays is provided so you can
experience the feeling of them grabbing the goodies with their
mouths on the underside of their body as they swim over your hand.
The second stop is the incredible Barrier Reef where you may see
nurse sharks and moray eels or the gorgeous Coral Gardens, known for
thousands of colorful fish. Your guide will determine the spot based
on the day's water conditions. You will have approximately 30
minutes of snorkel time at each stop. Your captain will determine
the order of the snorkel stops.
Ice water and fruit punch will be provided on the boat. |
|
|
|
Afterward, stop at
my favorite chocolate shop, Icoa Chocolate, to pick up a couple
pieces of passion fruit truffle. |

This was a
great trip! Last time we went it was on an excursion
through the cruiseline and we were on a boat with over
100 people. This was only about 15 people, with 2
guides. They were very helpful with my wife and
children, and took extra time to make sure the kids had
fun at Stingray City. This is a great excursion and I
will use your service for future cruises. Thanks! |

Just wanted
to let you know how wonderful our StingRay City Tour
was. I was a little concerned about not booking thru the
cruiseline, but I quickly found out how easy and less
expensive it was to book thru Shoretrips. The directions
to the meeting place were perfect. The van driver was
upbeat and informative. The captain of the boat and his
assistant were great. The captain held a stingray and
allowed us to take pictures. They were also more than
happy to take pictures for us. They seemed to be having
as good a time as we were. I can't say enough positive
things about our experience with your company. Our only
regret was the short period of time we had to spend in
Grand Cayman. We will definatly be back!!!

The shore
excursion that we booked through your company was
fabulous! It was so nice arriving at Stingray City in a

the tour guides were very knowledgeable. Thank you! |

I wanted to
write to you and tell you how happy I was with your
service. All the trips from the cruise lines had been
cancelled. My clients took the tender anyway and went to
check in with your captain. They were so pleased that
the trip was on and your team took them to the safe
snorkeling spot and then to the Stingray City. The great
thing was that hardly anyone was there and they had a
great time! She was so excited and when she got back on
the ship, everyone was envious that they got to do the
excursion! I think you guys made some future friends.
Thank you so much for everything. It is a pleasure doing
business with you all. What a great service. |

Thank You
so-o-o much. The Stingray City tour was fabulous!!!!.
The
guides were great. The small group made the experience
even more thrilling. We were overwhelmed with rays
rather than the rays overwhelmed with a multitude of
boistrous people. I strong-heartedly recommend your trip
over ANY others. We were all thoroughly impressed and
will certainly book with you on our next trip. We are
happy to recommend ShoreTrips....with raves!! Blesssings

Only one
word comes to mind when I think of this trip "AWESOME".
The shoretrip was fantastic and we could not have asked
for anything better. I would categorize it as an
unbelievable time!!! My kids said it was the best trip
they have ever taken. The trip exceeded our expectations
of what to expect. We felt we got more than our money's
worth. We can't say enough about the courteous and
knowledgeable guides. Thanks for finding this trip that
will always have a place in our memories. |

The
ShoreTrips were great! They were the highlight of our
vacation; much better than the cruise!! While everyone
else was crowding into the Royal Caribbean shore
excursions, we had personal service and relatively small
groups with ShoreTrips. For example, they had three
school buses take them to Stingray City, we had an
air-conditioned minivan. They had a 100 person boat take
them to Stingray City, we had 12 people on our boat with
a tour guide to show us how to get the most out of the
trip, how to handle the stingrays, how to feed them, how
to hold them. We also got an extra stop on the Barrier
Reef for a 12ft. snorkel dive that was not included with
the crowded cruise ship trip. |

The trip was
terrific! It was the highlight of our cruise! Our
ShoreTrip was much better than the trips booked by
Disney in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. We wish we had
booked one with you in Cozumel and the next time we
will! We loved the snorkeling with the stingrays and on
the reefs. My husband and daughter enjoyed seeing the
nurse sharks. We were a little weary booking with you at
first, internet bookings are so vague at times, but the
experience was so easy. I hope that others will be
encouraged to book through you too. It was a great
value-- much better than Disney and that's really saying
something! |

It was
fabulous!! The value far exceeded the price! It was so

I have ever done! |

My
ShoreTrips excursion was great! The trip was definately
worth the price because we looked at Carnival's trips,
and our trip was really a combination of two of their
tours. The guides were extremely helpful and
knowledgeable. Stingray City was great - my daughter and
I both held the stingrays, although she didn't like them
swimming so close to her legs. The tour was great, and I
would love to go to Grand Cayman and do more of your
tours there. |

Grand
Cayman is a bird-watcher's jackpot with four avian habitats to
visit. Visit a cross-section of Grand Cayman’s five major
avian habitats in search of Cayman’s local and migratory bird life:
Wetlands, Woodland, Savannah/Pasture, Seashore & Urban.
Your guide’s experience and knowledge of bird sounds, habits and
identification make it an enjoyable experience for all levels.
Sightings of the peculiar variety of Cayman’s bird life depend on
weather, accessibility, bird movements and customers’ preference.
Local species exhibit a strong Cuban influence.
The “Big Six” top local bird sightings are: Grand Cayman Amazon
Parrot, West Indian Whistling Duck, La Sagra’s Flycatcher, West
Indian Woodpecker, Vittiline Warbler & Stripe-headed Tanager. These
should make any bird-watcher’s day! |

A great way to start
your day in Grand Cayman. This early morning jaunt will take
you along the North Coast beaches and deserted sandy areas of West
Bay beach that seems to run for miles. A trip into the water around
the end of the island will feel great as the sun gets warmer, and a
ride on a short trail, which also serves as a bird sanctuary will
round out the trip.
This is a leisurely ride along the beach. If you are an experienced
rider, you will also have the chance to canter |

Enjoy a morning ride
in the waves, and then get your bearings with an island tour.
This is an island tour combined with your horseback ride. It gives
you a sense of where you are and where you might want to go after
your horseback ride. So often, we leave these islands without having
a real idea of what they look like. The town of Hell, where you can
buy the famous t-shirt "I've been to hell and back", and the Turtle
Farm, site of many turtle launchings, will be part of your ride.
The horseback ride itself is 1 1/2 hours. These stables are
meticulously maintained and a pleasure to visit. Your ride takes you
through the mangroves of North End and a dip into the water. |

Only
three of these exist in the world. A power boat will meet you at the
shoreline where you disembark your ship. It's a short ride out to a
beautiful dive platform, which would easily hold 20 people. One of
the excellent pilots will give you a short introduction into the
workings of this machine and then you hop inside. It only holds 2
people in a totally transparent non-claustrophobic cabin and,
therefore has the best visibility of any submarine in the world. The
pilot is behind you, guiding you and talking to you as you glide
through some of the best diving sites in the world. You will have
the opportunity, if you wish, to try your hand at piloting the sub
with its easy to use joystick. You will come as close to the reefs,
walls and wrecks under the sea as you would on a dive - except you
don't need to take diving lessons and you'll be perfectly dry!
This sub has a unique design where 2 people sit comfortably inside a
giant non-claustrophobic glass bubble. You have a 360 degree view so
you can see what is sneaking up from behind. Watch as an eagle ray
glides overhead, follow along side a turtle or sneak up on a
sleeping nurse shark.
Your underwater tour is 35-minutes long. Although we have noted that
the entire trip lasts 1-1/2 hours, you may be lounging on the
sundeck or reading in the shade while another couple enjoys this
underwater adventure. They depart from a comfortable barge, so take
this time to relax and visit and enjoy the shoreline of Grand
Cayman. The actual dive is awesome, but even your time lounging a
bit before and after takes you out of the crowds and brings you a
very personal experience.
Grand Cayman is the only location in the world that you can
experience the thrill and adventure this unbelievable vessel has to
offer. |

Vans with a wheelchair
LIFT in the Caribbean are few and far between. Your van will be
ready and waiting for you when you arrive off the cruise ship or it
will meet you at your hotel. The personnel along will show you what
"the best of Grand Cayman" means by the VIP treatment you have. Your
visit to the Turtle Farm, where you can see thousands of green sea
turtles in various stages of breeding, will be informative and
entertaining. This is probably the most visited attraction on Grand
Cayman. This must-do, hands-on experience for everyone allows you to
tour holding tanks with turtles of all sizes, from new hatchlings to
giant breeders weighing hundreds of pounds. There is a petting tank
for turtle photos so you can take photos of your new friends.
Just past this little spot of heaven is Hell, that is the town of.
It's found at the end of a road paved with good intentions. When you
arrive at Hell, you will immediately see that it is a 'dead-end' on
the island, so to speak, duly named for the intriguing blackened and
jagged ironshore rock formations. Have your friends pose in front of
the sign, and buy your t-shirt. Don't forget to mail your postcards
so everyone at home gets that postmark. Next, visit the Conch Shell
House, the Rum Cake Center, see an Old Style Camanian House and drop
in at the Governor's House. |

I wanted to
let you and your company know how pleased my family and
I were with a recent shore excursion with your company.
We took a three hour tour of Grand Cayman. Our guide,
David, was a very nice, polite, well-informed, and
accomodating young man. My dad is wheelchair bound, and
David did everything possible to make the tour pleasant
for him while also helping him maintain his sense of
dignity. We could not have asked for a better situation.
I sincerely hope you will pass the kudos on to the tour
company and to David.
Thank you, and we hope to avail ourselves of your

What is a Mastic?
Take this tour and you will know! In 1995, the National
Trust re-opened the 150-year old Mastic Trail - a traditional
overland footpath that connected the North and South coast
communities for logging and trade. In some parts of the Trail,
the forest canopy has been dramatically altered by the
Hurricane. This has in turn created new habitats and features
that your experienced guide will excitedly explore and interpret
with you. Who knows what new & exciting discoveries await!
Historic sites will be pointed out as well as lots of vegetation
with funny names like Strangler Figs, Giraffe Trees, Sinkholes,
and more. He is going to lead you along an ancient trading route
into one of the oldest stands of virgin woodland on Grand
Cayman.
Geddes will point out medicinal and other useful plants,
historic sites and a variety of wildlife. This is the best way
to get a glimpse at the Cayman parrots in the wild!
At the end of this three-hour walk, you will feel energized,
knowledgeable and priviledged to have met Geddes.

The itinerary is not unique but our trips to Stingray City are our

Aboard the catamaran, you will have use of snorkel gear and the

What's better than the
half day sail we offer with this same captain? A full day sail, of
course! This sailboat is a 39-ft flying machine, with sexy
lines, racing rigging - and an attitude to windward!
She is a Canadian-built, high performance, mono-hulled, sailing
vessel and she's waiting to give you the time of your life in the
warm clear waters surrounding Grand Cayman.
Escape to the crystal azure of the north sound, snorkel the reef,
see Stingray City and Coral Gardens, walk the sandbar... or, let the
captain and crew take you out on the ocean blue for a cruise around
Northwest Point and along the west wall and Seven Mile Beach. You'll
also enjoy a deli style sandwich lunch with chips and fruit, sodas
and water.
You can participate in crewing if you wish, or just kick back and
enjoy the sail. Take some time out - you deserve it.

Take
a short course and an actual SCUBA dive with a licensed instructor.
We know there are many cruise passengers who want to learn to dive
while they are in the warm and beautiful waters of the Caribbean.
Our great dive shop usually makes a day of learning to dive,
including a 2-hour break for lunch. But cruisers don't have that
kind of time. So they've put together a "condensed" version just for
cruise passengers.
They will introduce you to the wonderful world of diving and teach
you the basic skills, first in a 1 hour class and then in a pool.
The class room instruction is PADI taught and covers clearing the
face mask, clearing the mouth piece, and swimming with a distressed
buddy. You'll then be tested underwater on these three items.
You'll then have the opportunity to try out your newly acquired
skills when we take you on an exciting 1-tank guided 30ft shore
dive. You will feel pampered because we limit the number of new
divers to 4 per instructor.
For a small fee, your family or friends can snorkel while you're
doing doing your dive. |

For cruise ship
passengers. When you've got the boat to yourselves, you'll have a
better experience. This is a small and well staffed dive shop.
If you like one-on-one service then you'll really appreciate these
people.
Grand Cayman has the best diving in the world. The West Wall offers
some of the most popular dives...Trinity Caves, Big Tunnels, Orange
Canyon and North West Point Drop Off, to name a few, are amongst the
much loved dives of the West Side of the Island. There are swim
throughs and canyon ways, tunnels and pinnacles with schools of fish
clouding around the area. These and many other sites offer divers of
all levels incredible diving with amazing fish life in calm and
clear water. The shallows are teeming with snappers and grunts,
chromis and grouper and there is a huge variety of marine life to be
found. We may do the shallow dive on Stingray City or visit one of
the local wrecks and explore every little nook and cranny.
This excursion has been customed designed for Shoretrips cruise ship
passengers. We've arranged a special time so that you don't have to
get up in the middle of the night. And this trip is private, with a
normal load of just 4 divers. You'll experience a new way of diving
when you don't have to dive with scores of others.
We will usually use the 23' Mako to quickly get out to the sites.
And since the boat is trailerable, your dive master can change
locations, from the West End to the North Sound, depending on
weather conditions. One of the larger boats will be used if your
dive party is larger than 4 divers.
We suggest that you bring your own mask and fins, although you can
rent these as well as a BC and regulator from the shop. If you want
to give us your sizes, we'll have the proper equipment waiting for
you when you arrive.
Non-divers are welcome to join in on the fun. We'll provide snorkel
gear.
We suggest that you pack a light snack since you'll be on the water
for more than 3 hours.

Confirm
your love on a pretty, quiet beach in Grand Cayman You
will be dressed and ready to go when our driver finds you, either at
the cruise ship pier or at your hotel. After a few moments where you
finalize the paperwork, you will be whisked off for a short ride to
a secluded beach of white sand. I can feel the caressing ocean
breeze as I picture the spot. You might have two witnesses with you;
if not, the staff will be happy to take those roles on this special
day.
The Marriage Officer will preside over your service, although you
may pre-arrange a religious ceremony if you desire. After you say
your vows, you can exchange a champagne toast and a taste of your
cake as your feet receive a massage from the warm white sand. |
